Repeat Prescriptions
If your doctor has agreed, you may obtain medicines on a repeat prescription without having to see him/her. However, you may be asked to attend a review if your condition needs checking.
You may get a repeat prescription by either bringing in your slip, fully completed with your requirements, to the prescription desk, or post it in the letterbox if we are closed. Alternatively, if you have registered to do so you can order a repeat prescription online via the link on this page or by emailing us with your requirements at:
voyccg.prescriptionsposterngate@nhs.net
Please note, we require 48 working hours’ notice (2 days excluding weekends) from receipt of a prescription request to be collected by the patient.
Dispensed Medicines
Medicines can be dispensed to patients who attend our branch surgery. We stock those medicines that we normally prescribe, but occasionally we may not have an item in stock. We can often get these within 24 hours but if the need is more immediate, or if you wish, you can be given a prescription, which you can take to a pharmacy of your choice.
Medicines can be obtained during normal branch surgery hours.
We regret that the NHS rules prevent us from dispensing medicines to patients who live outside an area authorised by the local Primary Care Trust.
Medication Reviews
Patients may not be aware that our practice nurses can undertake the majority of medication reviews. Therefore if you are due a medication review, please contact the surgery to book an appointment with one of our nurses. If you need a medication review with a GP, this will be indicated on your prescription when you collect it and a non-urgent appointment can be booked for you.
The practice is now able to send repeat prescriptions electronically to the Pharmacy of your choice.
You will need to speak to your pharmacist to set this up. If you have already signed up for this service you will be able to collect your medication 48 hours after ordering without coming into the practice. For Hemingbrough patients who receive your medication directly from the surgery, this will remain unchanged
As this is a new service there are some medications that are not yet compatible with this service, please check with your pharmacy.
