Welcome to Posterngate Surgery Online
We are a 7 Partner GP practice situated in purpose built premises in the centre of Selby, covering a radius of about 7 miles. We operate one branch surgery in Hemingbrough which is only open part of the week and is for patients who live at Hemingbrough or Cliffe. For details of the branch surgery and its opening hours, please click on the 'Opening Hours' tab above.
We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.
As a practice we also take part in occasional research projects.
In addition to everything you need to know about the practice, you will also find a wealth of health-related information in the menu on the right hand side. Please have a look around the website and feel free to send us some feedback.
Patients Over 65 and At Risk Flu Campaign 2018-19
All of our flu drop in clinics have now been held so if you still need a vaccination, please call our Reception Team to book in for an appointment with one of our nurses.
CHANGES TO THE FLU PROGRAMME 2018/19
There is a national change in the sort of flu vaccination which is being offered to people 65 years and over.
The Department of Health has recommended a vaccine which has been shown to be more effective for these patients. However, supplies of this vaccine are being controlled nationally and all surgeries and pharmacies are receiving their supply in strict batches at set times.

There is currently a measles outbreak in the Leeds area. Measles is one of the most highly infectious communicable diseases. Spending 15 minutes or more in direct contact with someone infected with measles is considered a significant exposure. Immunocompromised patients, pregnant women and unvaccinated infants are at increased risk of this severe disease.
You need two doses of MMR one month apart to be fully protected against measles, mumps and rubella. If you and unsure whether you have been vaccinated, please contact the surgery to check.
